wine rc3 + aquanox2: revelation + ubuntu. copy protection

Hi,

i tried to install Aquanox 2 on my computer, but i cannot install it
because the copy protection says "damaged cd or no original disc". Of
course i have the original disc and the disc itself is in a good
shape. this happens when i use "Windows XP" in wine settings. If i use
"Windows 98" i get "please insert Aquanox 2 CD 1"

on appdb i saw that one could at least install an english version of
the game. my version is german.

what could i try next?

A little googling told me that the German version of this game uses Securom 4.xx; apparently the English version doesn't. The Wine wiki has some info on this: http://wiki.winehq.org/CopyProtection?h ... tection%29

Worst comes to worst you could always try finding a no-cd crack for the game.
