Wine Doesn't Install

Hi!
I'm using Ubuntu 9.x. The issue is I can't install anything through wine. The moment I run a Windows application through Wine, the screen hangs, becomes dull and everything stops working. Shouls I reinstall? Or upgrade?

What Wine version are you running? My guess is it's old, since your version of Ubuntu is old, and you are probably going to have to upgrade both.
