Image transpareny issues

Post by jbrown »

Recently I upgraded from 1.2 to 1.3.29 and I'm now experiencing problems with images on windows that should be (and were) transparent - like little images on tabs for example. The transparent part of the background of these images is now black. Other images on windows have magenta background.

Is there a known issue with the transparency color?

Yeah their was a problem with Alpha channels not getting created for some images, I expect the next release to have a few fixes like this one showing up.

I can't wait for the next build, It'll have the fix I been waiting over 11 months for :D

Hope it all goes well for you to.

I've used the git to compile mine for the last few weeks with the fix, it's not me I am worried about, it's all the poor saps who will be installing Ubuntu 11.10 only to be offered WINE 1.3.28 in the repository and no choice at all in ANY PPA's to get the later one. Infact the only way to get 1.3.30 is to compile it yourself (if your using Ubuntu 11.10).

Lucky git is so simple and error proof that anyone (like me) who really wants to...can. C'mon 1.3.30 get into the official Ubuntu Software Store, your fixes are so very needed.

Thanks for getting back to us, I knew 1.3.30 would be the best release so far (way better than anything before it), so much good work and polishing has gone in to the last 12 - 18 months. Not only that, they are adding new features all the time. Now here's hoping either Ubuntu get Unity to work with WINE generated .desktop items, I thought hard about how WINE devs might do the work for them and it's just not possible or desired. All the info is in the WINE .desktop locations and even internal, there is no reason they can't make it work, just not enough complaining going on over it yet ;)
