Run-time error '10'This array is fixed or temporarily locked

Hi,

I am trying to run the following program after installation:
http://jcrystal.com/products/winwulff/W ... _Setup.exe

But I get the following error message:
Run-time error '10'
This array is fixed or temporarily locked

What version of Wine? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade. If that doesn't fix it, run it from a terminal and post whatever messages appear. http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#run_from_terminal

I'm using wine 1.1.44, which is the version included with WineBottler.

When I try running it under console, I get the attached output.

I was hoping the link would stay there... unfortunately I don't remember the solution. Fortunately wayback machine kept a version:

Hi,
thanks for the help but unfortunetly i was not able to see that is wrong. I use wine 1.2. I installed VB6 with winetricks (i thought the runtime error came from here).

Hi,

The error I was getting was a whole heap of OLE errors. The fix was the following (it was hidden behind the wayback machine's header):

6.12. My application won't run, and the log shows lots of OLE errors

There's some chance that Wine's COM implementation has a bug or missing feature that's hurting your app. If so, you can sometimes work around this by using native DCOM98. See "How can I get a copy of some runtime library?" above. You can install OLE by running winetricks and selecting dcom98. If it helps, be sure to file a bug report. If it doesn't, you can undo the installation by running winecfg and removing the native library overrides for rpcrt4, ole32, and oleaut32. See also NativeDcom.

That entry was deleted from the FAQ because native dcom98 does not work in current Wine, and has not for a long time. It was removed from winetricks months ago.

Hi,
It seems indeed not possible to install Dcom98 from winetricks.
I was not successfull trying also to install it manually.
Any other idea ?

As dimesio stated: "DCOM98 no longer works with current versions of
Wine." You might have to back-level your Wine version in order to use
it.
