Window scrolling artifacts in PDF XChange Viewer

Post by melstav »

I'm seeing some really annoying behavior in Tracker Software's PDF XChange Viewer

When I scroll the window in either direction, I get artifacts from the window frame as evidenced by this screenshot

I've tried Foxit too, and it doesn't seem to do this.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it go away?

I'm using the 64-bit edition of Ubuntu 10.04.

I've tried the version of Wine 1.2 that exists in Ubuntu's repository and the versions of 1.2 and 1.3.9 in WINE's launchpad PPA as of yesterday.

I used the EXE installer for PDF XChange.

Hi,

You may try to install previous stable release (2.057) downloaded from http://www.tracker-software.com/product/downloads. I solved the same problem by doing so.

Ahh. That did it. Thank you muchly.

Eventually, I'll want to try to figure out what's different between the two versions and try to figure out what I have to do to get the latest release to behave correctly.

But in the meantime, I won't have to worry about PDF XChange annoying me so much.

for those of you using it now (aug 2011), the artifacts persist but a simple click with a text selectin tool clears them!

I'm having the same problem. Although haven't tried the latest stable version. If anyone has any news about it, let me know!
