IE6 + Office2003 in same wine instance?

Post by Scott Serr »

It seems as though both ies4linux and CrossOver force you to have a
"win98" wine instance (bottle?). But Office 2003 only seems to work on
win2000 instance and up.

Can someone confirm this?

What would be great -- if both of these apps could get together for the
nasty ActiveX stuff. Sharepoint I guess requires all this for it's
fully operational (non-degraded) usage.

Does anyone use Sharepoint from Wine? How? Non-degraded?

Thanks!

I can confirm Office 2003 needs Win2k or above; the rest I don't know about.

I assume that if IE6 is in a .wine.win98 prefix and Office is in a
.wine.2000 prefix, that IE can't launch "Office" ActiveX controls. Tell
me if this is not true please.

So I guess for the best SharePoint integration IE6 + an older Office 2000?
