Crysis on Wine? Works... kinda? help?

Post by wacossusca34 »

I love puppy... A LOT. It has offered me the fastest processing out of all the OS's I've tried, and it just works, with every PC!

I first started using it for my Java servers. It was phenomenal, no issues, extremely fast. Then I eventually switched my main OS to puppy.

I modded and played a game called 'Minecraft', another java based game... That was also, phenomenal. My suped up Nvidia graphcis card served well. Then I started to get into windows gaming with wine. It took me a while to realize I had to map my CD drive to get my disks to work, but so far i've gotten a few to work.

WinRAR - Not a game, but extremely useful. Work phenomenal .

Age of Empires 3 - Microsoft disk game, strategy. Works well before update, except there were very faint, almost unnoticeable lines on the ground textures. I had to update it from a windows system since it noticed I was not on windows, and freaked out. Any auto update system didn't work... :/. After that update, everything was the same, but the sound didnt work.

Crysis - Now I know what you are thinking... CRYSIS? WHAT? ON PUPPY? well, believe it or not, it executes, ALMOST everything has worked so far, except after loading the campaign, it plays just fine, then randomly stops, and closes. I really liked Cysis, but I really hate windows, and I LOVE puppy.

If there is any fix for this if you guys know of it, for any Linux distro, please help me. I'l troubleshoot it, and maybe post some media here as well.

Here's the log from launching it in terminal:

See the Wine FAQ on how to build Wine from Source and how to apply
patches. If you do apply the patch and it does not work, post something
in the Applications Database. We do NOT support patched versions of
Wine unless the patch is incorporated into the Wine codebase.
