Wine 1.3.21 - Irfanview 4.25 stopped working!

I reconfigured WINE, and deleted and reinstalled Irfanview 4.25 and I get this message when installing:

wine iview425_setup.exe

fixme:system:SystemParametersInfoW Unimplemented action: 88 (SPI_SETICONS)
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x163d3c "?" wait timed out in thread 0039, blocked by 0010, retrying (60 sec)

It also sets program to 'sleeping" in System Monitor.

This is in a stable and updated Ubuntu Lucid 32 bit system.

By "deleted" do you mean the whole wineprefix? You should. so if you didn't, do that now and reinstall to a clean wineprefix. If there are other things in the old wineprefix you want to keep, install Irfanview to a separate wineprefix. If it still doesn't work in 1.3.21, upgrade Wine. The installer needs mfc42, but with that it works fine for me in 1.3.24.

No I used the Win based program's uninstall routine.

Don't know about the WinePrefix - looked at the Wiki and it's apparently about non-default installation locations?

I installed in the default location as the program specifies for "all users" in XP.

Strange, I have the Wine PPA but it didn't get 1.3.24. Will investigate.

Thanks, I will reinstall WINE and then update to 1.3.24 and reinstall Irfanview; a fresh install.

If I could, I would mark this thread as [SOLVED]

I updated to the latest Wine Beta (1.3.24) and reinstalled Irfanview 4.25 and it all works as it was.

Still can't use Paint functiuin in all later versions (won't save changes) - anyone willing to investigate is welcome to try.

File a bug report, if one does not already exist and ATTACH a log file
