Oblivion, Low FPS, crashes.

Post by Jordan Windsor »

Hello,
I'm running Wine 1.3.23-1 under Arch Linux 64bit. Unfortunately
Oblivion via Steam has a very low unplayable FPS even at the lowest
settings, It also crashes before I even make it out of the prison cell
at the beginning, I was wondering is this a known problem? if so what
would be the solution.
I've already read the Wine AppDB page, unfortunately nothing seems to help.
Thanks.

Mpg123 doesn't appear to be installed on your system, which may be causing the problem. I had an issue with this in the past on AMD64 systems and the symptoms were very low performance, and no background music.

Found the following two lines:
err:ntlm:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path.
err:ntlm:SECUR32_initNTLMSP Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.
Looks like fixing this may help. Installing the 32 bit version of winbind should install appropriate library files.
