Regression From Platinum:Fallout1&2

Post by pawels133 »

Cursor in game is very slow so game is unplayable for me (the same problem is with Fallout 2). I wonder how those games can be rated as platinum with existing bug:

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6033

After launching game I get this:

wine falloutw.exe
fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x32f190,0x00000000), stub!
fixme:x11drv:X11DRV_desktop_SetCurrentMode Cannot change screen BPP from 32 to 8
fixme:dinput:SysMouseAImpl_Acquire Clipping cursor to (0,0)-(640,480)

maybe people have incorrectly rated the app as Platinum when it should be Gold, there's a third party program which alters the mouse behaviour listed on the AppDB for Fallout 1 I think.

If you signup as a maintainer for this app you can moderate peoples test data to make sure it's rated correctly.

Thanks for your answer. You're probably right.

I found Fallout here:
http://appdb.winehq.org/browse_by_ratin ... g=Platinum
there's a third party program which alters the mouse behaviour listed on the AppDB for Fallout 1 I think.
Do you know what's the name of this program?

Thanks. I tried this but I cant make it working. I copied ddraw.dll and ddraw.ini from sfall archive to Fallout directory but It seems that Fallout ignores those files. Maybe I should set some library overwrites in winecfg? Is there any solution how to use sfall with wine?

There are 18 votes for this bug and it seems to be a regression from old version of Wine. I looked at tasklist for Wine 1.2 and this bug is not there :(. There is a bug 7645 with only one vote (sic!) and many much less important bugs... I removed xp, because I believed that I can play Fallout under wine and I don't want to install this crap again so I hope that this bug will be fixed soon.
