Try using qcad. It can read DXFs and you can use cups-pdf to print to PDF.

I actually already have Cups-PDF. But the reason I want to get this function working is because PDF2DXF actually converts PDF's to a DXF.

Not really sure what you want to get back. DXF is a drawing file format. PDF is a general format for documents of any kind, including images.

Anyway, try native oleaut32.dll. Also make sure you using latest Wine version (ATM it's wine-1.3.21). Error 32 is ERROR_SHARING_VIOLATION. There were number of patches committed not long ago that fixed file sharing permissions in various places.

Yes! http://www.caddit.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1379#1379 seems too indicate that it is an install error--not a wine error. All you do is rename the R10 directory to R10.old.

I gave it a go but it didn't seem to work for me. I don't know if that was because I had been playing around with my settings though.

I decided to delete wine and start fresh but in the process managed to break my Ubuntu install.

Once I have things up and running again I will give it another go and post the results,

That should NOT happen. You might have more problems that just Wine not
working properly.

That was not due to any problem with wine, I'm the idiot that typed

wrong where I ended up putting a space between "HOME/" and ".wine"

I'm up and running again now though and have taken peoples advise to move home to a separate partition.

Next step is to get wine installed.

Hello,

Although progeCAD is no longer supported under WINE (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progecad#Distribution ), it has been installed with varying degrees of success as in this old example:

Truth is, a lot of success depends on the level of WINE someone is using to do this. For example I noticed that as of WINE release 1.1.30 or so the VBA started working, although some VBA-related tools still have trouble (PDF2DXF, ALE, etc) VBA script can be tricky to fix in any Windows installation, probably even more so in WINE.

I will continue to follow these progeCAD discussions on a very casual basis, as they do offer interesting insight into the WINE platform.
