Directory & File Name Issues

Post by bung33 »

I have successfully installed a rather large and complex enterprise architecture modeling suite of applications. It references multiple repositories which may be located anywhere on my local hard drive. However, anytime it tries to reference a location, there are always a series of random characters at the end of some of the directory names. This, of course, confuses the applications, because they can't find the files they're looking for...

If anyone knows of a possible solution that I could implement in order to get this to work, then I would greatly appreciate it if you would respond to my post. Thanks in advance for all your help...

Sounds like a bug in Wine. What version of wine is this,
and what application is it?

The modeling suite is called MEGA. I have WINE 0.9.59 installed, which I acquired directly from Ubuntu's repository...

I've also noticed that the same issue occurs whenever I input text into the application. For instance, I am prompted to supply a name during the process of creating a new repository. After doing so, I can manually open the repository references file and see that it is suffixing random characters to the name that I provided...

Is this the suite?

0.9.59 is good, but you might want to also try more recent
versions; the latest is 1.0rc1.

Yes. That is the suite. As one of their consultants, I have every one of those products that are listed in the suite installed. Am currently compiling the latest release right now...

After compiling and installing WINE 1.0-RC1, the problem persists. Any ideas?

Does anyone know if the latest version will fix my issue? I tried searching through the bug lists but I didn't see anything related to my problem. In the mean time, I guess I'll go ahead and see if I can compile the development version myself and test it again. If not, I'll just create a bug. If anyone has any ideas as to how to get this to work, please let me know. Thanks in advance...
