Sam and Max performance in 0.9.61 and later

I'm getting extremely poor performance running Telltale's Sam and Max games in wine '61 and rc-1.
I get great performance in wine 0.9.60.

I'm running Ubuntu Hardy and have an NVidia graphics card.

Run a regression test:

There have been several regression in graphics in recent releases. You
may have found one of those bugs or a new one.
