Debian....0.9.61.... and crooked hands

Post by A.Stahl »

Because from times of 0.9.58 version nobody makes packages for Debian, I decided to compile 61st ver myself...
Compiling passed smoothly.
But there are no Russian fonts.
In place of the Russian letters there are rectangles.

Amount of startable programs diminished notedly...
Can you explain how to manage with fonts....
What libraries are needed for complete wine compilation?...
And why do nobody assebling packages for Debian?

P.S.Sorry for my English..... I hope it is understandable.....

In case you did not noticed that _is_ official Debian repository.

That is debian _sid_ official repository. If I add it to my sources.list I'll have to set priorities for aptitude not no upgrade my hole system to an extremely unstable distro.

I think it's much easer to copy it to wine's repository, but it's just my opinion.

Which one is it? Wine does not have it's repository for binaries. Only source. Everything else is external maintained by different people.

I mean the one hosted at budgetdedicated.com that was used to be maintained by Scott Ritchie.

Read above. It is not an "official" Wine binary repository. It's the repository maintained by Scott. For any questions with it contact him directly.

Uhm, as someone who's used sid for years, it isn't unstable, let alone
extremely so. I've experienced just as many problems with my Stable and
Testing machines as I have on the ones running Sid.

Fine, I've rebuilt the official Debian 0.9.61-2 packages on etch.

I put them up at http://people.debian.org/~ovek/wine/, you can apt-get
them by putting this into sources.list:

deb http://people.debian.org/~ovek/wine/ ./

I might not always build these in the future, though.
