xsyon game, black textures? black flickering

Post by sxe »

Hi,

the last day i tried getting the game xsyon to run. I was some kind of succesfull but there is one last problem i cannot fix by myselfe.

Some regions / textures are black and the grass in the game is flickering.
Cause i cannot describe it better i made some screenshots so you can see how it looks. (The flickering is not visible, cause it only show up while moving)

Image Image Image Image

The game is currently in closed beta so you cannot test it. I'm hoping that this is a more general problem someone knows how to fix. Anyway, here is the link the the main website http://www.xsyon.com/.

System Details:
CPU: Intel i7 quadcore
Gfx: Nvidia Gforce 275 GTX
Gfx driver: 256.53
RAM: 8 GB

Thx

Ah, i forgot to mention.

I had to install d3dx9 with winetricks to get the game running. Maybe that matters.

What Wine version? If it's not the latest development release, upgrade.

I remember having similar issues in a game. It could be fixed by setting 'StrictDrawOrdering' to 'enabled' in the registry. See http://wiki.winehq.org/UsefulRegistryKeys.
But this is really just a shot in the dark. So I suggest you try it, but don`t get your hopes up. :P

It's kind of hard to diagnose from what you write, but if
you can get them to add a wine dev to the beta, there's
a slightly better chance he could help.

@AxlRose01
Sounds good but its not working. A google search said me that driconf does not work with propitary nvidia drivers that i use. Anyway, thx for the tip.

@DanKegel
Yes, i confirm to this. I'm in email contact with the main dev of the game so maybe i can ask him to provide a test account for a wine dev. How can i contact a wine dev before? I don't want to bother the game developers before being sure that a winedev will look into this problem when i get an account.

Thx for you comments guys, i'm still not giving up to fix this. ;)
