Microsoft Office 2007

hi guys, when trying to start the office 2007 setup from mounted iso, i get an ms error message (can't install office 2007, send error to ms).
i have arch linux 64-bit.

Use a legitimate install CD.

i have arch linux 64-bit.

You didn't mention what version of Wine, but if it's older than 1.2, upgrade.

Try again with 32 bit Wine and see if it installs. Is there any reason that you cannot install from the Office 2007 media? Office does not like to install from a mounted iso image.

i have the latest wine version. when i ran it as non-root, i get this error message:

i can take the installation cd tomorrow from home, but at the moment i'm not at home, i will try it tomorrow then again.

When you try again, do it in a clean wineprefix: no winetricks or other tweaks, nothing else installed.

i've removed the ~/.wine folder and let it recreated by winecfg, but same error message again. i've no winetricks or anything else installed, just wine. btw, in my home folder there is a folder %SystemDrive%, does this mean anything?
i'm reporting then tomorrow when i have the disk.

Tried it with the original installation cd today and it worked!

seems that wine can't handle mounted media correctly, since i can install it in windows from the mounted iso.

How are you mounting the .iso image under Windows? Office 2007 should
not install in that manner as it is NOT supported by Microsoft. I'll
bounce that off of the Microsoft team at work as we have five engineers
working with our staff.
