Wine crash wien diferent games, desont even start

Ok, I'm new here at the forum and I have a doubt:

I tried to play Torchlight and iRO (and there is another game I tried to start but dont rememebr which one), and I followed all the instruction on the wine game review but I can't play them, wine just starts (the window of windows desktop start with the name of "env") then nothing happends the window just close.

I have winetricks and everything installed and working.

My OS its Ubuntu, the latest version.

I just want to know if that means that my computer can't run the games or its a wine problem or bad configuration.

Can't tell without more information.

What version of Wine? If it's not 1.2, upgrade.
What graphics card/driver?

Yes I mean AppDB.

My version its 1.2, oh and my C: folder desappear after iRO installation, but when I reboot it appears again. This is terminal output (I installed it on a normal ubuntu folder cuz I dont want to be rebooting my computer every tryout):

Ok, i think iRO its now working (patching already) just downloaded the missing .dll files, but torchlight, dont know where to get the .dll or missing files

Did you ever run Wine as root?

Try in a clean wineprefix.

when I run it wih SUDO nothings happends, it says that its not root account that is it rold user account.

In a clean wineprefix, what do you mean?

If it is NOT possible to remove this file or sudo does NOT run, then AND
ONLY then:

su -
<Enter root password>
cd /home/roid
rm -rf .wine/
exit

Then create a NEW Wine prefix:

Code: Select all


wine notepad.

This should start and run Wine's notepad application and create a new
.wine in the user roid home directory.

Then try installing the program using wine. It should install to
/home/roid/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/<directory program installs to>

YOU SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLING TO THE DESKTOP.

There may or may not be two files created when you install a Windows
program: <program name>.lnk and <program name>.desktop
