Eve on wine graphics

ok so I've been trying to find the solution to this since i installed Ubuntu 10.4 last week. When playing eve on Wine, the graphics of the ships, planets and parts of the UI and portrates show up black with no texture or pattern.

I posted the question on Eve and ubuntu forums and at first thought it was the graphics drivers on my laptop. Acording to the ubuntu forums, wine is where the problem is. ((Happens with Portal aswell.))

Any ideas?

What version of Wine, graphics card/driver?

Wine 1.2
Card: Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family

IT is aperently installed correctly

.....Not sure how i missed that...

Its been open since last year....and its still New....>.>
Irratating.... oh well...least its being worked on i guess

"New" just means it's been confirmed.

While it may be some thing bug related you can possibly work around it
by disabling shadows and HDR (causes this issue for nvidia users). In
fact just set everything to basic graphic settings and if it works up
the graphics until it stops working. You can access these settings in
game via the 'esc' menu.
