Stickykeys

I use Stickykeys in Ubuntu 10.04, but it does not work under Wine up to the latest version (1.2) in any app. A bug report was filed in 2007 (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9661) that has still not been resolved. Is there a workaround of some kind? I am disabled and Stickykeys is a necessity for me.
