Very weird behaviour after moving from 32 to 64 bit..
Today I decided to reintall Ubuntu on my PC, going from Lucid Linx 32 bit to a clean install of the 64 bit version..
I'm a huge fan of casual games, and now I have a number of problems with them.
At first I could get NOTHING to work, after a couple of tries I finally get something to work, I can have Braid working, but I can't seem to make Plat versus Zombies work, I managed to make Escape Rosecliff Island run (which I previously couldn't) from the external hard drive where I had put the games, but I couldn't make it run once I copied it on the Desktop.
Also, at times, when I (succesfully or unsuccesfully) launch a game and exit even after a couple of seconds I find myself "logged out" of the computer and all other applications running need to be restarted.
Any idea?
Should I just go back to the 32 bit version?

Reinstall your graphics drivers. Make sure you also install the necessary 32 bit libraries. If you're not sure what packages to install, ask on your distro's support forum.GiorgioV wrote: Also, at times, when I (succesfully or unsuccesfully) launch a game and exit even after a couple of seconds I find myself "logged out" of the computer and all other applications running need to be restarted.
I've had some luck wih the graphic driver reinstall.
But I've had poor luck with this guide about having 32 wine on 64 Ubuntu
http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit#head ... 83e54ca799
Any tips? at the time I don't even know if I have the 32 or 64 version of Wine running, any way to figure it out? It doesn't say on the "about" page.

Is there a reason you want to build Wine yourself? It's much easier just to install your distro's package.GiorgioV wrote:I've had some luck wih the graphic driver reinstall.

The PPA should only distribute the 32 bit version.

Add the PPA for the wine distributions and install all of the necessaryI wanted to try running 32bit wine on 64 bit ubuntu, as suggested on the first reply...
I'm doing good so far anyway with some minor tweak and adjustment (i.e.:if I run applications fullscreen at times it crashes when I exit).
