Installing Left4Dead2 - Error No Language Configured

hello list,

i am quite new to wine. i just installed it onto a freebsd system. i wanted to test for left4dead2.
while executing:

Code: Select all

wine /mnt/cdrom/setup.exe

wine quited with a message box, "no language configured.". now searching through the web just revealed an entry with another guy who wasn't able to solve the problem. hope it is just a newbie problem.

Try installing and starting steam first. If that works you should be able to download your game.
