Sometimes Wine'd program can not write to file

Has anybody noticed? You changed some setting of a program, but discovered later that the setting is not saved. Seems no matter what you try, it doesn't get saved. Very strange considering that most data are saved fine under Wine. Any advice on what might be wrong?

It could be that permissions have been changed in some way to disallow writes.

Well unfortunately I can't provide the specifics now. I had the problem on small cases way too many times. No one had similar issues? Maybe it is not really due to writing to file. But somehow, some settings of some program just can not be altered or saved. If I see some very obvious case, I will report it.

Yes, there are number of bugs open in bugzilla for this problem. The exact cause is unknown. Could have something to do with this bug: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22456 but there are could be more reasons.
