WINE ERROR

I have WINE running in SL with mIRC and when I cut & paste with the key board WINE will crash! If I cut & paste with the mouse it's ok.

Any other have this problem?

Any particular reason you using mirc instead of any of native Linux IRC clients? There are lots of them with lots of features.

I'm on MAC SL but there are no IRC client that I have found that will run popups like mIRC will.

haven't mess with mIRC, i use Aqua X-Chat for IRC actually... works nice enough.

When you copy and paste with the keyboard, what are you pressing? unless you remap some keys with Xmodmap, you need to use Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+V ... if you use the CMD short cuts normal on Macs, its going to be sending the wrong keycodes to the program.

Dang, Altimeters I guess. I was using the MAC command. MS commands work great.

No, but that is because I don't use mIRC.

Are you using WineBottler? If so, we can't help you; you'll have to go
to the WineBottler site for support.

What Wine version? If it isn't 1.1.43, it's time to upgrade.

How does it crash? Please run it from the Terminal app and paste the
output that Wine produces here. If it's really long, use a site like
Pastebin.

Are you using the X11 that comes with SL, or the one from MacPorts, or
the one from the Xquartz project? If you're using the system X11, you
need to upgrade. Xquartz 2.5.0 is out, and 2.5.1 is coming out soon.

Why are you using mIRC anyway? Might I suggest Colloquy (a native Mac
app, http://colloquy.info/ ) instead?

I've had other programs crash when hitting key combinations with the CMD key in Wine... most don't... but the CMD and Ctrl issue seems to get most people... luckily Xquartz will sync the pasteboard so if you CMD+C out of OSX you should be able to Ctrl+V into Wine... etc etc...
