Installing a pc game with multiple cd's

Post by Akpsp »

Hello everyone. I'm new to WineHQ forums, also new to Linux. I was wondering if someone can help me install a windows pc game, Doom 3, that require multiple cds? I am running Xubuntu 9.10 and Wine 1.0.1. Thx

Upgrade Wine; 1.0.1 is over a year old.

There's a howto in the AppDB entry for Doom. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.p ... n&iId=2887

This is an easy fix as I have done this many times.
When you get to the second disk switch to your alternate desktop and
unmount the disk....place disk 2 in the tray and wait for it to read then switch back to first desktop and continue installation.
Repeat these steps as needed. Enjoy 8)

Forgot to mention: Update to Wine 1.1.39 for best results.
