This ain't funny anymore. On my notebook with ati xpress 1250 onboard graphics running Windows XP, the latest version of winetest (corresponding to wine 1.1.41) crashes after some timeout in the d3d9 tests, which leads to a hard reboot. On my intel945 desktop there's just some timeout.
While I understand, that this X1250 chip is not really decent hardware and not supported anymore by Ati with new drivers, winetest should not be able to reboot my notebook. I'd be willing to run additional tests, if wine developers are interested in that problem.

It isn't doing it -- the hardware drivers/modules are. It's mainly their fault that they are buggy :\.lahmbi5678 wrote:This ain't funny anymore. Then report that to laptop manufacturer/ATI/MS. Winetests are a regular user space application that does a bit more unusual things that most other apps do.lahmbi5678 wrote:On my notebook with ati xpress 1250 onboard graphics running Windows XP, the latest version of winetest (corresponding to wine 1.1.41) crashes after some timeout.

I first reported this one to ATI over 2 years ago (12/03/2008), the bug is present in their drivers from Windows 98 too. ATI customer support told me that it's unlikely this would ever be investigated unless it affected a significant amount of customers who all reported the problem.vitamin wrote:Then report that to laptop manufacturer/ATI/MS. I think one suggestion on our side has been adding an option to winetest to select which tests are run so that a partial result can be submitted to the test.winehq.org website. The other option is commenting out the test.jeffz wrote:I first reported this one to ATI over 2 years ago (12/03/2008), the bug is present in their drivers from Windows 98 too.
