Now I'm somewhat confussed which is normal for me at the best of times.
When I launch Macindows from my iMac 3.06 GHz late 2009 Apple edition of that computer there are references to Wine everywhere and also at the startup screen there is an hyperlink to Wine headquarter. ( http://appdb.winehq.org/ )
It seems like Macindows is something that installs Wine on OS X. But as we don't know what else it changes, we can't support it here. This forum is for plain Wine. Just report any problems you have with Macindows to the developers of Macindows. I think this is their site
Macindows is a product that took Wine and Xquartz, and stuck themtogether in a single app... so it launches its copy of X11 and Wine programs run in it... its modified a lot, and not supported as general Wine. YOu must get support from Macindows.
That said.. for pay-for Wine usage, Crossover is about 100X better than Macindows.... and Wineskin (1.0 out in a day or two), and WineBottler are 2 free ways to run Wine in an easier way on Macs.
I donwloaded and played with Macindows, and while they have some good ideas, it has a LONG way to go.
