Using Ubuntu Packages for Debian

As someone has already noted, the Debian WINE packages are lagging behind the rest of the packages. I'm wondering if it is possible to add the Ubuntu source and install from there for Debian?

on www.backports.org you can find 0.9.59 for Etch.

I discovered that the packages on Debian unstable seem to be more up to date than the packages available from the WINE repository, so all is good. Not quite sure how I will handle things though once I switch back to stable on my sister's box.
