packages for etch lagging behind :(

Post by one-use-nickname »

how come only 1 out of 3 versions of wine actually gets built for etch?

i mean i understand that the packages get built by different people so theyre not updated synchronously but ubuntu, suse, mandriva etc are all up to date at 0.9.60, whereas the latest etch package is version 0.9.58, TWO versions behind !!! no fair!

i mean cmon! debian is just as mainstream as the rest of em, so give us a lil dignity!

The packages are provided by volunteers. If you wish to help, please
contact the current maintainer and offer compiling yourself.

ah, volunteers volunshmeers...

why isnt there some automated infrastructure that builds the packages automatically, like a set of qemu-VMs one for each distro...

besides whats with the guy who used to make the debian packages up until now isnt he around anymore or what?

well, i guess i COULD volunteer, but that would involve soooo much woooork .... nah, i dont feel like that, i'm the lazy kind ...
its always like this, when you wait long enough, someone else is gonna volunteer and you dont have to do nothing....

yeah yeah yeah, bad attitude, blah blah .... maybe some other time ... im gonna put off thinking about that until tomorrow ... or the day after ....
