Track Mania Nations Forever - today released/4free

Hey there,

it gives a new Track Mania Nations version: Track Mania Nations Forever!

I'm just downloading it and I hope that it will work!
I will edit my post when I've finished the download

okay, it's up and running!!
You have to copy the d3dx9_36.dll into your system32 directory and then make an entry in winecfg for this dll.
The only bad thing is, that I don't have any sound but a *clicking* in my speakers

and you don't can run the game over the launcher...you've to start it direct.
and it only runs when I start it over a terminal
(wine ./TmForever.exe)

yep, my desktop lauch, too.
Have tested it after you wrotie it

But if I want to play online, I can see all the servers but if I connect to one, it is loading (maps, too) then, after pressing a button I just see for maybe 2 to 4 seconds the intro of the map/the server and then it's hanging itself up and I get this in console

Ubuntu 7.10

hmm...in 7 days the new version comes out and tomorrow will a new wine version be released...maybe it will work then *hope*

(sometimes the game freezes...don't know why)

I don't get it to work...but I think it has something to do with the fact, that the directXDiag tool doesn't *see* that my soundcard have a buffer.

you use wine under linux, you make the proof that experiences don't scare you

okay, I've a workaround for this

Thanks to schmatzler from ubuntuusers.de, he found out that you have to delete the OpenAL32.dll in the trackmania nation forever directory and then you have to copy this OpenAL32.dll into the directory

for me it works now

because of my bad english here the steps to go:
download this OpenAL32.dll http://rapidshare.com/files/108969382/OpenAL32.dll.html

delete the current OpenAL32.dll in the trackmania nations forever directory

copy the downloaded OpenAL32.dll into your trackmania nations forever directory
