Poker Websites with WINE & Fedora 11 (Leonidas)

Post by Jayna »

I have problems running poker websites. Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker will run, but barely, it is like they are "struggling" and they sometimes just get "stuck" and I have to "Force Quit" . And I click on a tab like Cashier or Requests that would take me from the GUI to a website and nothing happens. I can't go from the GUI to another site, but I can go 'intra-GUI'. Also, I cannot launch Full Tilt Poker (which I used to be able to do until their latest update). Since I am an American, these are about the only sites that will accept me.

I do have the latest version of WINE. I have no idea what video card I have. It is my boy friends computer, and he doesn't know and he doesn't care. I have Linux Fedora 11 (Leonidas). I am using Mozilla Firefox Browser 3.5 and an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+.

My question is (1) Does anyone have a similar problem with poker websites? (2) Has anyone resolved this problem? (3) Am I missing something I need to download to make these sites work? (4) Can WINE even run these sites at all?

Please help

Thanks

What are the different ways of playing poker? The ones I know of are Texas Holdem, 5 Card Draw and Seven Hand Poker. Are there anymore. What else do you need to know about poker? Can you give me tips on how to check if someone is bluffing?
