Hi,
I want to run classic games like Age Of Empires through wine without a CD on my netbook. Is there any hope?
Am I right in my researching, there is no tool like daemon on linux (mount such that games are happy)?
Sorry for being stupid, thanks

Re: Running games without a cd
AFAIK that game requires CD-ROM to be present for it to work. Contact company that wrote game and request patch removing this dependency.haydoni wrote:I want to run classic games like Age Of Empires through wine without a CD on my netbook. Is there any hope?

Vitamin provided additional information that the game requires the CD inThanks for a very concise and well worded answer James,
"You must have access to the original CD and a method of transferring ISO
images to your netbook. " Brilliant! I have these things.
Unfortunately, I am ignorant. I have looked (line by line) on both http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ and http://www.winehq.org/docs/wineusr-guide/index, to no avail. Where may I find the "FAQ on how to run programs without a CD"?
