Status on OSX Intels?

I'm just wondering if someone could give a quick overview of OSX Wine for Mac's with Intel chips? Does it work? And is there a list of apps that are compatible?

I really want to try and install IWD2 on my MacBook- it is currently rated at 'Platinum' but does that also apply to OSX?

There are many ways you can install Wine for MacOSX on your Intel Mac.
However, any game that requires the use of extended OpenGL will not run
at this time. This is not a limitation of Wine but a limitation of
Apple's X11.

The link points to a rather non-techy article on how to use Wine on Mac OS X that I wrote for ... well, some non-techy court reporting students (the base URL is mine -- a court reporting student support site).
