Tried with

Ubuntu 9.04 x64

Tomb raider III - major slowdowns and breaks
Crayon physics - no Breaks but very slow
Counter strike 1.6 lower framerates (not much 3-5 fps of diference)
Age of empires II a little slower, can't say if it is a wine regression or x64 fault haven't tried this game on wine 1.20 on x86 machine yet.

ubuntu 9.04 x86
Tomb raider III - runs perfecly smooth
Crayon physics- smooth aswell
Counter strike runs faster, hard to tell the diference only saw a little fps improvement

Both were run on clean installations

it can also be due drivers

but i don't think that's the problem because, all other apps/games runs at the same speed in both systems

Then install 32-bit arch distro and prove us wrong.

Intel has the worst drivers for worst video hardware.

I tried generic vesa drivers and it runs faster on x86 than x64 it migh be a driver issue but it's not a video driver issue

Basically , it's that they believe they can fill their hardware deficiency with programming and brute cpu power.

I moved to 64bit with Jaunty just some weeks ago. I haven't noticed any difference between the applications and games I am using with Wine.
