I'm testing with Ubuntu-8.04 and wine-1.1.17; it seems wine will always envelope everything in a PS document when printing (even if the queue has been set up as "raw" in Ubuntu/cups and raw printing works from the Linux side).
I searched the archives but I couldn't find a definitive answer about raw printing being possible or not.
This page http://wiki.winehq.org/Printing seems to suggest "raw printing" is not possible.
If so, does anyone know if and when raw printing will be supported?
By raw printing I mean that if an app sends to the printer the 4 chars
ABCD
then I'd like for the printer to get exactly ABCD and not a PS files representing a document with the chars ABCD inside.
