I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic II, and it's working as expected--except that music from the CD will not play (all other sounds work fine). This is an issue not experienced by other users, so I have some hope that it can be solved; I'm just not sure how to do it, though. I hope someone can give me a hint.
Heroes of Might and Magic II includes the CD music as audio CD tracks. This means that you put the CD in your audio CD player, skip track 1, and listen to the music. However, it also means that my Linux distribution (Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex) mounts the CD as two separate parts: one for data and one for audio.
Could this be the cause of the CD music not playing? If so, is there a way around this?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (1997), also has audio tracks along with the data tracks. Under Windows the cd audio plays fine, but under Wine, I don't think the required functionality is implemented yet.VictorGijsbers wrote:I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic II, and it's working as expected--except that music from the CD will not play (all other sounds work fine). You may need to mount the disk as a virtual CD drive and use that. DOSBox has the same issue with mixed mode CDs, and as such you have to run it off a disk image.
Note that you can't mount an iso--It must be a bin/cue image. Mount that as a virtual drive and it may work, assuming Wine has that functionality in the first place.
