Quickbooks internal web browser

I've installed Quickbooks 2006/07 with the following commands under Ubuntu 8.10 with Wine 1.1.4

1. Install IE 6
sudo apt-get install wine cabextract binfmt-support

$ wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
$ winetricks ie6 vcrun6 fakeie6

2. Install Quickbooks 06/07 by loading the CD and typing wine Setup.exe in the appropriate directory. (/media/cdrom1/library/software/QuickBooks0607/QBooks)

Quickbooks loads up and I select the Sample Project. The problem then is that the internal 'quickbooks web browser' which allows you to view customers and everything doesn't load. It quickly flashes on the screen and dumps the following in the terminal:

I've also tried winetricks modules:
gdiplus -> this produces a com error.

dotnet20, corefonts, nothing, vcrun2005, flash, jet40, mdac28, allfonts -> These did nothing for quickbooks.

You sure you did native ie6? Try without 'fakeie6'.

I first installed IE6 through ies4linux. I since removed that and installed IE6 through winetricks.

Once doing this I can only start IE6 by going to .wine/drive_c/Program Files/Internet Explorer and typing 'wine iexplorer.exe'.

All I did was
removed my old .wine directory

$ winetricks win2k ie6 vcrun6

Then I installed Quickbooks 06/07 again and tried to start quickbooks. Quickbooks complains that there is no IE6. If I run winetricks again with 'fakeie6' then I get further.

The terminal output you provided showed you didn't use winetricks ie6,
because some native dlls that it should use weren't being used.
