Hey everybody,
Has anyone else noticed Wine starting up programs a lot slower on a 64-bit Ubuntu compared to 32-bit?
When I had 32-bit Ubuntu installed on my system, WINE programs would start up immediately, but with 64-bit, I have to wait at least 10 seconds for something to occur. No error messages seem to occur, it just takes awhile to start up.
Everything is normal afterwards...
If it helps, winecfg reports that it "cannot connect to the mount manager", and that the "drive configuration cannot be edited", in the "Drives" tab.

Sounds like you do not have all the correct 32-bit libraries and Wine failing to talk to HAL (dbus).kareeser wrote:If it helps, winecfg reports that it "cannot connect to the mount manager", and that the "drive configuration cannot be edited", in the "Drives" tab.
