Major Bug while trying to run winecfg

Post by skowalson »

I am getting major errors and have no idea what to do. I followed the instructions at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb and got the following results:

scott@scott-desktop:~$ pasuspender winecfg

To get rid of this error you have to upgrade the ntlm package. Since
you did not specify which Linux distribution you are using, I am at a
loss to instruct how to do this. However, most distributions have a
site dedicated to them that provide package upgrade instructions.

And like Vitally stated "What is the problem", in other words what is
not working. Also, please provide the architecture of your machine
(CPU, and bitness) and which version of Wine you are working with.

Code: Select all

Open terminal
Type in 'wine --version'

Provide version number

Looks live you've got some network printers that are taking a while to
load, and timing out wineboot.

You asked here is what I think you are asking for:

wine-1.1.14

AMD64 w/4GB RAM

Ubuntu 8.04 64bit version

Printer is on a 32bit version of Ubuntu 8.04 on another cpu on private network

It's a known problem - Wine takes too long to start/times out during startup when it has problems communicating with the remote printer.

Make sure that printer is working when you starting Wine. Alternatively you can try and stop CUPS.
