Battlefield 2 wont run

Hello.

I installed BF2 in linux mint and ubuntu 8.10 and the game allways crashes.
I get to see the first image for some seconds (where it says battlefield 2 and EA games) then you see the process appearing in the taskbar, black screen (like it normally does when entering the game) and 1 second later "jumps out".

Note: Every time this happens, which is allways, i get my resolution screwed up.

Ah, and EVE premium. I cant get it to work either.

How can i get information on what is happening in the crashes? I am quite new to linux so all help will be appreciated.

which video card and drivers? It works mostly for me with nvidia and OffScreenRenderingMode set to fbo.
