SpellForce problem

Post by mAdVax »

Hi

I can't run SpellForce game (Diamond Edition)
I dont get any Wine message, but the game displays a dialog with a OK button:

"Conflict detected : an interruption request has been found. Please deactivate any antivirus, anti-trojan and debugging software." (translated from french)

... then ends.

The game has been installed with no problem.

wine 1.1.1 on debian/etch

Thank in advance !

Messages like that are usually copy protection issues. Your app is mistaking Wine itself for a debugger.

The version of Wine you are using is pretty old; you could try upgrading.

Try upgrading to wine-1.1.11. That game uses some nasty copy protection which doesn't work in all configurations.

I upgraded Wine to 1.1.11 (from wine.x.pl) --> same dialog box.
In AppDB it is sayed it works (gold) with 1.1.4 --> same error !

It looks like a configuration error, or a problem with my system.
Did I miss something ?? A missing / not compatible dependency ?

(the game runs fine with WinXP on the same computer... )

EDIT: Diamond = Platinium = 1.52
