Also confirming them involves having another person test them to check that they experience the same bug.
There's no need to request that these be confirmed.

Correct. As these are reviewed, the problem will either be confirmed or disproved. If a workaround is found, it will also be added to the bug report and Applications Database entry, if one exists.Ansus wrote:Why? write to the software authors and request Linux versions of the
software, in fact, of the applications that you have filed bugs for
most do have native Linux implementations:
LinuxDC++ is a Linux port of the Direct Connect client DC++.
https://launchpad.net/linuxdcpp
Linux does not need Windows antivirus scanners, but you can use Clam
to check Windows executables natively.
Mathematica is available for Linux.
Kvirc is available for Linux.
The Emulator3000 website seems to be down, so I cannot check that for
you at the moment.

Six months is not a long time! I suggest that in the meantime youSome of them exist for a long time already. Please try and respond if
you experience the same troubles, help to triage bugs.

I do not need Linux versions of the software. I know that some of these have Linux analogues. I test Wine and spend time for finding and roporting bugs. Some bugs affect a number of applications, but I link them to downloadable (and free) applications so other users and developers could test these bugs.
Instead of writing your comment here you could confirm some of the above bugs and by that make your contribution to testing.

Again, your bugs will be confirmed or denied when the bugs are/were triaged. There is no need to ask/request/beg that they be confirmed. That is and will be the request of those of us that do this work. Unless a bug is denied, you may not know that it was even worked on.I do not need Linux versions of the software. Lastly, please be patient. There are very old bugs/problems that need to be fixed as well.

If you want to do that, then I commend you! Thanks!6 months _IS_ a long time. That's the limit for bug reports that I
check for being abandoned in bugzilla. Not that they should all be
fixed in 6 months, but should definitely be checked up on every 6
months, at least.
I thought that you are an end user who recently switched to Linux fromAs for native Linux implementations, that argument is made repeatedly
on this forum. While ideal, yes, the sad fact is, it doesn't always
happen. Wine is focused on implementing the Win32 API, not getting
companies to port their programs to every OS. Besides, if they port to
Linux, what about OS X/OpenSolaris/etc., users?
