install programs from cd?????

i cant get my line6 gearbox program to work does anybody know how to help me? i insert the cd into the cd drive and right click the setup.exe and click open with wine and get a message "installer requires windows 2000" I am running ubuntu 8.04 the line six gearbox program runs an effects box for guitar and a usb port sound card there are drivers on this cd as well

You can set win version from winecfg program.

Wine does not support hardware drivers.

i seen someone else has enabled a line six product called the toneport wich is similar. it too has a usb interface . also i am new to linux and not sure what to do when i get what i need. i run the program on my laptop with windows xp i dont see widows 200 in the winecnfg

If it's just a "sound card" type of device, then Linux might have some drivers for it. Then Wine will be able to talk to it.
