Hi,
I would like to know which Windows-Software you managed to use with Darwine on your Mac. I don't have to and don't want to run many programs this way but for example, Trix did not work at all.
Thanks!

Hi,
I have an Intel Core 2 Duo and I even recently bought the latest version of Mac OsX (Leopard). I don't know, it would just be interesting to know how others handle Darwine on a Mac. I found a version which seems to be very user-friendly. I guess Boot Camp may be easier to handle, still I'm not really sure about the partition-thing.

I run several programs, mostly Bible based on Darwine.
As to problems with either distribution, you should use their web sites. Darwine is not supported by the Wine project. If you find that you cannot run a program under Darwine, such as Office 2007, you should first look at the Applications Database and then post here. What you have to do to run some programs under Darwine maybe different than what is needed to run them under Wine.
Also, to the people who will complain about my messages, my MacbookPro's display is not working. It is going to the repair shop today.

Of Darwine, I know of two people who are working on this for the Intel Macs: Mike Kronenberg and Zach Drayer. Both are good distributions of the program.Hi,

Darwine was the name of the old powerpc project that combinedJames Mckenzie wrote: Of Darwine, I know of two people who are working on this for the Intel Macs: Mike Kronenberg and Zach Drayer. Both are good distributions of the program.

an x86 emulator and wine. There's no particular reason for that name
to live on now that plain old wine can compile and run on Mac OS X,
but I guess it's catchy.
Mike's is the most up to date, it's at http://www.kronenberg.org/darwine/
We should probably start linking to it from http://winehq.org/download/
to emphasize that we want to fix bugs that affect Mac users.
I'll start a discussion on wine-devel...

Actually, several packages are needed that do not come with MacOSX to support all fonts. Thus the script provided by the Darwine project should be used. This is not a shortcoming of the Wine project.

There are two distributions of Darwine. At the present time, there are problems printing from Wine for the MacOSX builds. We should probably start linking to it from http://winehq.org/download/
