Problems on the menu when you install a software with wine

Post by fabito »

Good afternoon,

I am a user of Ubuntu 8.04.1, and had to format my PC, before formatting when installing software for XP as an example the WinRar using Wine was prepared this way:
Applications>> Wine>> Programs>> WinRar>> WinRAR.exe, currently it is no longer being possible, is being installed so
Applications>> Other>> WinRAR.exe, leaving everything disorganized.
I would like some help to solve this problem.

Now appreciate and forgive my English.

Regards to all

I'm also having the same problem (Wine apps come under "Other" ) but only on one of my PCs which is very strange. The only difference I can think of is that the one that is broken is running 64bit Ubuntu.

Friends,
Solved the problem by uninstalling and installing the version 1.1.10 to version 1.1.70, immediately after installing any software that is created for the folder 'Program' and I would upgrade to version 1.1.10 wine, and typically install the software.

There was a patch sent yesterday to fix this:

@The_Dark_Lord: so you had the problem in wine1.1.10? then when u updated to 1.1.11 it fixed the problem? i.e. the menu just appeared?

@André H.: how did you apply the patch? I dont quite know how to use the attachment.bin. I opened up the file in gedit and the code seems incomplete? the last line was a "else"

So do I need to uninstall everything and reinstall as wine1.1.11?

Thanks!
