Setting Default Sample Rate in audio above 4800

If I set the default sample rate using regedit to something above 48000, which is the max allowed on winecfg, will I break anything?
I'd like to double it to 96000.

It makes no sense - most HW supports max 48000. If anything it should match what ALSA is set to.
