Hi all,
I sincerely hope you can help me with this since it has turned out to be a real hassle for me. The problem is, that whenever I Alt+Right click in a fullscreen DirectX application (in this case World of Warcraft), it open the menu from the window manager similar to the menu which pops up when you right click the titlebar of a windowed application (Maximize / Minimize / Move / Resize ...).
Is there anywhere to turn that off or at least change the hot key for that function? I've scanned the global hotkeys in Gnome for that particular combination, but I've found nothing. Wine doesn't seem to have a gui option to change it.
What can I do to correct this please?
Kind regards
Alt+right click in DirectX applications
Re: Alt+right click in DirectX applications
Sure, just reassign this in your window manager. For example to use window key instead of alt.cdvl wrote:The problem is, that whenever I Alt+Right click in a fullscreen DirectX application (in this case World of Warcraft), it open the menu from the window manager similar to the menu which pops up when you right click the titlebar of a windowed application (Maximize / Minimize / Move / Resize ...).

Re: Alt+right click in DirectX applications
This might not be a Wine-related question after all, but any idea as to where I can do that? I didn't find the combination in the Global Hotkey setting (Ubunty Hardy / Gnome).vitamin wrote:Sure, just reassign this in your window manager. For example to use window key instead of alt.

Ask that on ubuntu/gnome forums.cdvl wrote:This might not be a Wine-related question after all, but any idea as to where I can do that? There might be a simpler solution, depending on your application.
You might try holding down the <Shift> key, plus the <Alt> key, and then to right-click.
This idea works for "PhotoShop 6", and is not a mimicry of Windows VNC-client behavior. Instead, my own KDE sees an <Alt+Shift> modification as being different from a mere <Alt> modification, and <Alt+Shift> might not be assigned, per chance, as part of your GNOME desktop prefs either.
But in contrast, many Windows apps won't see the <Shift> key when <Alt> is being pressed. Now, you could be out of luck with this DirectX program, in that an <Alt+Shift+R-Click> might have been programmed as even more special than a mere <Alt+R-Click>, but This is really up to each programmer.
But you can just try!
At the same time, it might be a greater inconvenience for you, to reassign the modifiers for your whole Linux desktop.
