Austin English is talking about a terminal in Linux.
Read: http://psychocats.net/ubuntu/terminal

Which version of wine are you using?
type "wine --version" in a terminal.

which distribution are you using ?
type "lsb_release -a" in a terminal.

Welcome to Linux, I hope you stay.

Ha my Spanish is not half bad:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u ... l=es&tl=en

Fill a app at http://appdb.winehq.org.

Upgrade to the newest version of wine 1.1.7 then fill a bug or bugs.

Try with a 'clean' wineprefix "mv ~/.wine ~/.winebak"
Note anything you try'd in the appdb.
Note any bug you report will be ignored and closed if you use things like ie4linux.

Repost your terminal log with no ie4linux and other overrides.
Have you try'd gecko and or fakeie6 ? see http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks.

If half of this is bull that cos's im 3/4 asleep. night night!

Yes I upgrade to the 1.1.7 version and download all with Winetricks. Thanks to winetricks i could find the solution for previous errors like: "ActiveX can't create object".

Thanks for you're answer

If somebody have more ideas, please post.

Please review Wine's Applications Database to see if your particular application is listed. If it is, please review the associated bug reports. If your application is not listed, please create an entry for it and provide an evaluation of Wine's support for it. Also, please create a bug report in Wine's Bugzilla so that the developer community will be aware of your problem and, hopefully, someone will work on providing support for your application.

Thank you.

As i already pointed out try the winetricks stuff, then install the app, and run it, it starts for me then.

If you don't want to remove your ~/.wine, why not install in a seperate WINEPREFIX? Always a good idea. Do this:

wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage sh winetricks riched20 vb6run art2kmin mdac27 wsh56

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage wine setup.exe

cd ~/garbage/drive_c/Program\ Files/sip/

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage wine SIP.exe

The same error: "Can't open active base - Type mismatch" and the same list of terminal and cmd output.

I install all the components of winetricks, and copy all the DLLs from a original Windows XP and i run SIP with Wine for XP(thet's very important!)

I think that program really can't run in Wine!

No! Yes! this works you know what apears now? this is the error now:
Run-time error '372'.
Failed to load control 'CommandButton' from FM20.DLL. Your version of FM20.DLL may be oudated.

The 'type mismatch error' is over. I install 3 or 4 times the Winetricks components an it works!

This means the DLL is more old than the SIP 2007, so if I put a DLL acording to the version of the program, this will run!!!

My spirit is new now!! I will try what i thinking. I will post my experiences here

Thanks to everyone, but if anybody have some idea please post :D

What "all" did you installed? You was asked to do only 2 things: gecko and fakeie6.
axelyaa wrote:and copy all the DLLs from a original Windows XP
You did what? NEVER copy all DLLs from windows! It will break everything.

First: Winetricks have a lot of options to install - DCOM98, DIRECTX9, MDAC28, etc

Second: Put the DLLs don't break anything in my case

Now the error is 'Out of memory' I'm in the finish of ths horrible problem(I think ) :)

Correct. DO NOT INSTALL THEM ALL. You broke your Wine configuration.
axelyaa wrote:Second: Put the DLLs don't break anything in my case
Sure it did. Nothing is working.

Remove ~/.wine directory and please PLEASE follow the direction here.

Well probably install 'all' with winestrick kill my configuration, because de winecfg don't work anymore but i can live without winecfg ;).

Now I'm discover FM20.DLL is a important part of MS Office, so if that program have a relationship with office, never will work without de DLLs.

But overload wine with DLLs is not a good idea, i know that.

thanks for all answers, this is a great forum i 'promes' post my solution here... I will find a solution!!!

Thanks again, and please... If somebody got an idea post here

i had that problem with fm20.dll too. Did you try exactly what i said:? Just copy and paste following commands, don't try install other things with winetricks, or change the order, just copy and paste, then it starts for me:

rm -rf ~/garbage

wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage sh winetricks riched20 vb6run art2kmin mdac27 wsh56

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage wine setup.exe

cd ~/garbage/drive_c/Program\ Files/sip/

WINEPREFIX=~/garbage wine SIP.exe

Thanks to everyone for the help, opinion or whatever.... finally SIP 2007 works, yes finally works 8) thanks thanks thanks... the solution eas reinstall some components with winetrics.

It works a little crazy but works. Sometimes i have to set the version to NT and sometimes to 98 :P but this programs ware very very bad, so it never will work "super" with wine.

So, thanks so match again.

Please update the Applications Database with what you did to make it
work. This will help others as well.
