Need for speed most wanted:keyboard and mouse blocked

Hello,
I have a problem with Need for speed most wanted: the game without problems, but when I click to enter the menu does not any answer and remains on the started screen.same thing about the keyboard,it does not answer to commands.
There are solutions?

How did you start the program?
Are there any error messages that appear when you attempt to access the
menu?

Can you also supply the following:

Wine version?
Linux Distribution and version #?

Did you look at the Applications Database for this program?

ubuntu 8.10, 32 bit
No messages error, i remain in the started screen who said "click to enter the menu",but it'is impossible because despite it's possible to move the mouse, it's impossible to click,and the keyboard don't answer.
I think the problem is in the direct input (directx) but i don't know how to resolve.

You could try upgrading to 1.1.8.

If that doesn't solve the problem, run the program from the command line and post console output.
