Issues installing .net 4.8.1 on Linux Mint

Hi I am trying to install .net 4.8.1 on my linux mint but the installation hangs here:



This is my terminal window:

Unfortunately this did not help me as I already have 4.8 installed and the version I need is 4.8.1 as noted on the title.

According to the link you provided, the .NET Framework 4.8.1 was tested by two submitters and rated by both as not installable and garbage.

What was not tested

running it, as it doesn't install or doesn't install correctly

This is identical to the experience I had to date (KUbuntu & Debian).

CodeWeaver's cxoffice aka CrossOver v25 (equivalent to wine 10.0) does not offer a recipe either.

I guess it is safe to say that .NET 4.8.1 can be considered as unsupported for now.
