Installing application with 2 cd's
Installing application with 2 cd's
Hi. I've tried to find this solution and have not been successful. Never
used wine before and am just getting into Linux.
Opensuse 10.3. Wine is installed. Using Wine-door. I have an application
that has 2 CD's. the first CD installs then asks for the 2nd CD. Unable to
eject the first cd. Get error message media is busy and can't eject. Can't
figure out how to get it to eject.
Been trying for a few hours and now I give up. Heading for bed. Any ideas
would be helpful.

Installing application with 2 cd's
Just tried it again. Wine-door does not see the CD drive. I browse to the
CD and then click on setup.exe. When it gets ready for cd 2, I opened a 2nd
window and typed in "wine eject"
"No CD drive found"

Re: Installing application with 2 cd's
Well, generally speaking wine doors is something to be avoided and not supported here.Elizabeth Murray wrote:Just tried it again. Wine-door does not see the CD drive. I browse to the

What happens if you just browse to the installer using nautilus (assuming Gnome) and run the installer?
When it asks for the second cd, then try wine eject.
Installing application with 2 cd's
I get the following message:
linux:~ # wine eject
No CD drive found
Do I need to run some kind of configuration utility?
Off for lunch be back in 1 hour.

Installing application with 2 cd's
I'll give this a try. I downloaded crossover and got the same problem.
found an article on hard coding the mount points for the cd drives and am
trying that now. I have 4 cd's on this application. it's Photo Explosion.
I'll keep you posted.

Installing application with 2 cd's
I made these static mount points and then using the technique posted with
opening a terminal window, "wine eject" then removing the CD and putting in
the next CD. All is now installed. Not working yet but installed.
thanks for everyone's input.
